GMAP helps mine action organisations better implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security – which means increasing female participation in mine action and encourage and support stakeholders to record, measure, and report on women’s employment and participation. By doing this, GMAP is supporting the inclusion of females as active agents in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
One of the reasons GMAP thinks this is important is because of the different ways in which women and girls experience conflict and are part of the solution. Want to learn more? Check out UN Women’s infographic on Women & Armed Conflict!
