It is with pleasure that we announce Lilla Schumicky-Logan as our new programme manager!
Lilla has gathered her experience over the last ten years primarily in the Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East on reintegration of at-risk youth, gender, DDR and peacebuilding. She embarked on her career in Sierra Leone, working with former child soldiers. From there she moved to Gambia and conducted a six months long anthropological research. Her passion working with communities affected by high-level of crime and disaster took her to Uganda, DR Congo and Kenya, where she worked with national and international NGOs, as well as government and academic institutions. In 2011 she joined UNDP and worked at various capacities in Somalia until 2015. She holds MA diplomas in both Philosophy and Cultural Anthropology and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Bradford. She also has a Diploma in African Studies. As GMAP Programme Manager, she aims to ensure that gender and diversity are kept high on the agenda within the mine action sector but also within the broader human and community security framework.
